The Bids panel allows you to create new and edit existing producer facing bid. To add the Bids panel click on Connect in the main toolbar and select Bids from the Hedge grouping.

Once the panel is inserted into the workspace, all current bids will display in the table. Each bid will have a location, commodity, description, status, delivery, underlying future, and price/basis.

The far left column contains actions where the bid can be synchronized (bid is present and in the same state in both Connect and CQG), edited or deleted.

To synchronize a bid click on the ‘cloud' icon in the actions column and update the bid accordingly.

Click on the ‘Columns’ dropdown menu to remove or add any fields or auto-fit the columns display.

Export the Bid panel’s datatable to Excel through the Export menu.

Customize the Bid panel’s display through the Settings by clicking on the ‘cog wheel’ icon.

Create New Bid

Click on the New Bid button in the upper right corner to pull up the dialogue where you can enter in the various parameters of the new cash bid.

Select a location and commodity from their respective drop down menus.

Enter in a custom description (optionable) for the bid. Leave blank if no description is necessary.

Next a delivery start and end date will need to be entered. Use the date picker (calendar icon) to select a date by scrolling through the months and years with the arrow buttons.

Next the underlying future or fixed price of the bid can be set. When opting for a fixed price bid, you will be prompted to enter in the price.

When opting for a bid based on an underlying futures contract, select the expiration from the drop down and then enter in your basis. The futures last traded price will display next to the symbol for reference.

Once all fields are completed, you can check the Synchronize with Hedge Management box. Synchronized means that the bid is present and in the same state in both Connect and CQG. If it gets updated in Connect or CQG separately without using cmdtyVIew (say, a change in the basis), then the bid window will show ‘Hedge Management Mismatch’’ and will display a synchronization option as shown below.

Edit Existing Bid

To make changes to an existing bid, click on the ‘Edit’ button in the action column to the far left of the bid.

Once selected, the Edit Bid dialogue will display where the description, delivery start and end, futures contract and basis / price can be updated.

Once finished, click the Edit button and the bid will be updated and published to producers.

Delete Bid

To delete a bid, click on the ‘trash can' icon to remove the bid from public view.
