This document provides a high level overview of using Barchart Tableau Data Connector to pull data into Tableau and create dashboards.

Data Discovery

  • Explore the data you are interested in from our data catalogs for example, Fundamental Data

  • Export the data into csv

  • Select the interested data symbols to use in Tableau using the meta data fields

Importing Data in BI Software

  • Using Tableau as an example, go to tableau Connect -> Web Data Connector

  • Click Get Historical Data and enter the details of the data

  • Import the metadata file and join it with the data table

Creating Dashboards

  • Once you import the data into BI tool, simply drag and drop data to create charts

  • Combine multiple charts to create an interactive dashboard
